What is 5 Minutes Alone?

Well, apart from being a badass Pantera song, it’s a blog about all things metal. I will be writing about metal music and culture exclusively. Nothing about my daily life, nothing about my kids, nothing about whatever I had for dinner yesterday.

This blog will contain entries about new and old releases, about books on metal, about literature that has inspired metal songs and albums, discussions of discographies, the occasional concert review and so on – and so on. Whatever I feel for, I will write about.

This blog will not attempt to be totally up to date with the ever-expanding metal scene. There will probably be entries once a week – give and take.

Focus will be on forward-thinking (extreme) metal. If you like your metal music traditional (and conservative), fine with me, just don’t expect too much of this blog then. If you have an open ear and an open mind – this is your place!

Who am I?

A 40 year old Danish metalhead with wife, kids, job – and apparently too much time on my hands. I have been listening to metal since the beginning of the nineties. Over the years I have written about metal music in online metal zines and in good old newspapers. I have released a handful of novels as well, by the way.
